MOS Logistics continues investing

If we want to compare the development level of countries visually, a map of world railroads would be a realistic source.

MOS Logistics Vice President E. Arda Arman stated that they are continuing investing in order to meet the demands and the requests of the local industries.

As Mos Logistics, would you talk about your investments in “railroad logistics”? What were your investments in the area of railroad logistics and what was your growth rate in 2015?

The mission of our zone is “to create the understanding of full service among the organised industrial zones and prevent the pollution that may arise due to this” and therefore we started the journey with a principle of social responsibility in order to increase the level of development and it worked to achieve the centralisation of the logistic services with all awareness, to decrease the transportation costs of our existing industries and lead these gains to new investments, thereby creating an increase in employment and efficiency in national and global scale by attracting national and foreign capital to our country and make our industries stronger in the competition, keeping in mind that railroads are the most environment friendly and safest method of transportation, therefore at the end of 2014, MOS Logistics increased its railroad supply with 2km to 9,7km, its container area with 50,500m2 to 75,500m2, its sheltered storage areas with 10,000m2 to 22,770m2 in order to meet the increasing demands and completed the construction of a 20,660m2 concrete loading ramp and now, MOS continues to meet the needs and demands of the industries of MOSB successfully, as a 100% MOSB investment . Would you please evaluate Turkey’s position in “railroad logistics”? Our country has a fascinating geopolitical position as it joins Asia and Europe together and it is a gate towards Balkans, North Africa and Middle East so it has became an important center for logistics thanks to the recent investments. If we want to compare the development level of countries visually, a map of world railroads would be a realistic source. Unfortunately, Turkey’s railroad network of 12,500 kms is not enough to surpass road transport, neither for goods nor for passengers. At least, like the awareness MOSB showed and built a junction line to take this burden away from the state and built integrated logsitics collection points, creating a temporary solution and contributing to the environment-friendly, secure and mightly railroad use by contributing a capital competition power to the logistic center quality of our country. The important thing is that the government to undertake the role of inspector and the public, executor. Transportation, and therefore railroads should remain national due to their strategic and logistic importance.

Which rail routes do you use? As far as our infrastructure supports, we are regularly giving internal container transportation services on Izmir Alsancak Port and Aliağa Biçerova terminal.
